Linear Programming Based Optimal Power Flow Optimization of DCOPF for an IEEE 5 and IEEE 14 Bus System

In times of increasing industrialization and domestic utility requiring electricity, deregulated power or electricity concepts have been gaining widespread significance in recent times. Deregulated signifies reflects transmission sectors/companies defining their own set rules regulations an attempt to get relieved from a centralized control pattern, consequently leading the improvisation efficiency. However, system experiences instability issues at varying demands load side, which may be attributed several reasons. Under such circumstances, congestion along lines is observed, quite challenging. These further causes stress on management concerning distribution current competitive environment amongst various other stakeholders. It has taken as problem formulation this paper, Local Marginal Pricing (LMP) mechanism using Linear Programming (LP) methodology proposed work. DC optimal flow (DCOPF) concept base platform for LMP formulation. effectively used assessing pricing scheme different buses, while DCOPF aids reducing effect due peak loads. IEEE 5 14 bus analysis scheme. Superior performance observed experimentation, justifying validity LP.
